Meet our 2019 committee

Shelia Harrod

The Old Town Festival is a wonderful event for the whole family, always raising money for great charities. It truly is one of Swindon’s highlights and not to be missed! I’m honoured and delighted to be Patron of such a fantastic event.

Denise Rogers

This is my 2ndyear being involved with the Old Town Festival and I’m delighted to take on the role of Chair.  However, when I moved to Old Town in 1982, I can remember donning a Victorian dress as part of the Old Town Festival with Queen Victoria and carriage coming up Victoria Road.  As a retired Dance Teacher I am delighted to be responsible for the dance and music performances this year.  And look forward to welcoming you to this year’s Festival.

Sarah Church

2019 is my second year as part of the Old Town Festival Committee. I’ve lived in the Swindon area since 2012, and have been an active community volunteer and campaigner since 2016 after I left the Forces. Last year I took over the role of Chair on joining the Committee and enjoyed being part of the team that made the 2018 Festival such a well – attended and  successful event. Being part of a bigger Committee this year, 2019 is set to be even better!

It is great to be vice chair of the Old Town Festival committee again. I have been involved with the Festival since 2012. It is a pleasure to be part of a group so passionate about the local community and providing such a well-loved, successful and inclusive week of events. I am a local councillor and enjoy getting involved with the community. Hope to see you at the 2019 Festival!

Nick Burns-Howell

Living in Old Town it is great to support the Old Town Festival as part of the committee – it is a wonderful event which brings our local community together. I look forward to helping it be even bigger and better this year!

Heather Matthews

I have been involved in the Old Town for many years, and in the past was Vice Chair of the Committee. I live in Old Town and now support the Festival as a committee member.

Jen Stevenson

I have been part of the Old Town Festival Committee for 10 years now, I started out as Secretary and then a few years ago I took over the Events/Music Coordinator’s role. I have seen the committee change over the years but everyone that has been, and is, involved does an excellent job. We are all volunteers, giving our time for free to bring some enjoyment to Swindon. I really enjoy all the events although it is hard work. I’m looking forward to this year’s Festival, I have some great bands booked for the Lawns and the Bowl so please look at our website for our full programme. Looking forward to seeing you all at this year’s Festival

Caroline Pitt

I’ve been an Old Town Festival Committee member since 2011 and was secretary from 2013 – 6. I’m mostly involved in the piano recital at Christ Church.

Daniel Pitt

I’ve helped run the Old Town Festival for about 11 years, and is a member of the 2019 committee. In recent years I’ve co-ordinated the marshals and developed the rolling roads closures plan.

Pradeep Bhardwaj

I am involved with many local communities & charities for past few years. I brought along some volunteers to help marshal the Parade at Old Town Festival 2018 and was so impressed with it that I thought of joining this most wonderful community festival in Swindon.

Neil Hopkins

This is my first year as a member of the Old Town Festival committee and I first got involved – as against just attending – last year, as a steward for the parade, when the call went out that more stewards were urgently needed.  A retired Human Resources Manager, I’m an Old Town resident and a South Swindon Parish councillor for Old Town and always enjoy getting involved with community events and activities.  Hope to see you at the 2019 Festival!
